A company us through the darkened streets and passageways of Old Newport. Gather with other curious souls to hear haunting tales and explore the darker side of Newport with the Ghost Walk Join black-garbed guides who will introduce you to some of Newport's long-dead ghostly citizens, such as the Mauve Lady of Lugley Street and the Midnight Walker and give you an eerie tour of the town's most haunted places.

This Ghost Walk takes you through historic streets and quaint alleyways featured in the popular series of genuine ghost stories researched by Isle of Wight author Gay Baldwin, whose books, 'Ghosts of the Isle of Wight', 'More Ghosts of the Isle of Wight', 'Ghosts of the Isle of Wight III', and 'Isle of Wight Ghosts Book Four', contain more than 200 haunting true tales collected from all over the Island.

Allow at least an hour-and-a-half for this town walk which begins outside (or inside if you would prefer) the historic, haunted 18th century Wheatsheaf Hotel in St Thomas's Square.

The Ghost Walk leaves at 8pm on Wednesday nights throughout the year - whatever the weather!

Ghosts linger here in Newport, although why they cling to their old haunts is a mystery.....one which perhaps you will be able to solve. As you begin this Ghost Walk, remember, if you encounter a bothersome spirit, just speak sharply to it and tell it firmly to "Go away".

There is nothing quite so funny as the idea of a ghost....until you actually meet one!
